Rats ate the internet.

Only in Celestun!
Apparently rats ate the wires at the main Telmex junction in town.
It took 3 weeks of phone calls and a trip to Merida to get someone out to fix it.
Only with Telmex.
Well, we're back online (for) now, so on with an update...

Our little house guest Diva hasn't been a diva at all! I'm temped to call her Roo.
She is as smart as she is cute.

Her walk chaperons Miles, Tito and Henry.

Monkey shows Diva how to enjoy a hammock.

Xmul continues to enjoy her version of summer camp.

Leading a rousing game of chase Stella.

The new toys continue to be popular.
Sean gives the girls a safety lesson.

Rufus loves his ball.

When he plays, everyone else just watches!

Monkey loves all

the

toys.

Amber is a collector; she waits for the other dog to drop a toy then swoops in to retrieve it.

Even Rufus' ball, despite being barely able to carry it.

Amber's toys.

Linda gets to borrow them once in awhile.

Action shot.

Linda and Daisy play.

A huge thank you to Helpxers Alex and Alex (not as confusing as you might think) for painting, putting up shelves, walking dogs, befriending Bosha and helping theTribe get over their infernal barking! Oh, and reminding me by example that I should read more.

Alex and Alex with Linda.

Portrait with Stella.

Good-byes from the gang.

A kiss from Bette.

Telmex is awful.

We are currently on week 3 without internet.
I'll update when I can.

Saturday the 14th

Everyone has recovered from a horrible and demoralizing round of kennel cough. Every dog caught it but Rita!
Amber and Pete in evening light.

Helpxers Jagoda and Michael lent a hand around the place.
Bought a new camera just in time to see them leave.
Thanks for your help!

The last gasp of my old camera catches Michael putting in a pen.
He has many helpers.

A sore elbow has curtailed my picture taking,
but I've managed to get a little use out of the new camera.
Days are hot -Steve says in the shade is the place to be.

Miles Monroe walking between some salt ponds.

Reggie and Gracie.

Daisy and laundry.

Isn't she pretty?

Otto, Zasu and Miles nap.

Mo keeps an eye on me.

Helpers Alex and Alex paint the casita.

Xmul is back with us and she brought a friend for a short stay.
Zoot gazes adoringly at Xmul (he's sweet on her).

Little Diva will be with us for a month or so, then she's off to her new home in Canada.

She's fitting in nicely and theTribe is happy to have their leader Xmul back.

Some long overdue toys have arrived!!
Daisy approves!

hello again

I'm done with regular updates and am posting only when so moved.
Liberated from the obligation of a self-imposed deadline, I've felt like taking pictures again. All that follow are from February.
Reggie says hello.

Buddy continues to do well and Alice thinks he's swell, despite (or because of) his addled brain.
A study with green:

And with blue:

Thanks to Lin & Mark for their efforts -especially the help with Twiggy's recuperation after hip surgery.

Therapeutic swims with Sean have helped; the repaired side is now the strong side and she is raring to play. She'll have the other hip done soon.

We had a brief but lovely visit with CSer Jenni.
The dogs took to her immediately and she took them on an unbelievable amount of walks! Sorry to see her go!

Little moppet Linda is cuter than ever.

In Tribe news, Amber has been spayed and Lex has been neutered -the stitches are out and all is forgiven. The other 4 boys will be visiting the vet shortly.A rousing game of chase Amber.

Steve McQueen is a handsome guy.

Archie and Steve.

Steve and his brothers Mega and Pete disregarding the no dogs on the table rule.

Zoot and Steve (that Steve is always where the camera is).

Mega!

A few pics of Monkey, because she's so darned cute and funny.
Enjoying the life.

Monkey and I share a joke.

PuppyG and Monkey after a run.

Zoot, Monkey, Linda and Lex

Morning shift guard duty-
Archie, Lily, Osita, Monkey and PuppyG.

A happy group watch Sean take Maggie out for a swim.

Jack and Tito.

Steve McQueen and Molly have an evening wrestle.

one cat to rule them

Even in a land of dogs a cat can be king.
